TOMORROW, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd is NFL DAY.  Have your child wear their favorite NFL team shirt.

WE NEED YOUR VOTES TODAY and TOMORROW!  The PTO Transportation/Safety Committee has been working with the County to address the speeding on Shore Acres Road that affects the safety of our students.  Attached please find a plan to add 2 traffic center islands and chokers to reduce the speeds.  They need to here support for this plan by tomorrow.  Please CALL OR EMAIL Eric Tacebak at the County at 410-222-1256or pwtaba20@aacounty.org

BES FAMILY NIGHT AT CROFTON SKATE ZONE ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24th from 5:00pm-7:00pm.  Stay tuned for more details.

 

SEVERAL FUN EVENTS/COMMITTEES MAY NOT HAPPEN NEXT YEAR IF WE CAN’T FIND VOLUNTEERS!  WE NEED YOU! We need a chair or co-chair for the following committees:  YEARBOOK, PROMOTIONS (box tops), VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR,  and BEAUTIFICATION (cleaning up school grounds). Grab some friends and have fun working on one of these committees.  If you are interested, please contact the current chair to discuss how you can help.  All PTO chairs information is on our PTO website listed above.

PTO MEMBERSHIP:  Membership envelopes went home this week.  Please take the time to fill it out and become a member.  We need your help to support our teachers and staff and to accomplish all these fun events and activities.  If you have any questions, please contact Michele Barrett at mlbarrett02@yahoo.com

VOLUNTEER POLICY AND ORIENTATION INFORMATION:   Volunteer Orientations  are needed  for parents who will: (1) Perform clerical work (running copies, laminating, etc); and (2) work directly with students in any capacity in the school (one on one, small group, Computer Lab, etc.).   Volunteer Orientations  are  NOT  needed  for parents: (1) who attended a Volunteer Orientation at BES during a previous year; (2) wishing to assist at Classroom Parties; (3) having lunch with their child; (4) who are invited in for a special event (Author’s Tea, student performance programs); (5) who are Guest Readers; or (6) who serve as Field Trip Chaperones.

Volunteers wishing to attend a  Field Trip  will need to sign/return the Sexual Harassment/Child Abuse Neglect Summary paper and will need to complete a Background check form  no less than 3 weeks prior  to the event the form is requested for.
